Today feels like fall where I live, and that feels good. Don’t get me wrong — summer is nice, and I’d rather be hot than cold any day, but it’s about time autumn arrived.
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Louisiana had their hottest summers on record, and the entire U.S. endured our second hottest summer since records have been kept. I don’t know how North Carolina’s summer ranks historically, but it was plenty hot, and a day in the 60’s feels exactly like what it is — a breath of fresh air.
Now, if only some of the hot ‘n bothered folks in congress could break out of their polarized paralysis, consider the possibility of cooperation, and focus on present reality rather than party ideology, that would be refreshing, indeed.
