Katie Murray

Katie Murray received her masters in divinity from George W. Truett Theological Seminary and masters in social work from the Diana R. Garland School of Social Work at Baylor with a specialization in congregational social work.
Murray was ordained to the gospel ministry by her childhood congregation, First Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. She served on staff at Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas as the Christian advocacy specialist, a position created in partnership with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship to develop a congregational toolkit for Christian advocacy. While on staff at Wilshire she was selected to the initial class of BJC Fellows with the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty.
Following the completion of her work with Wilshire and CBF, Katie worked at the BJC to help begin their Associate Director of Mobilization position before transitioning to stay home with her children full time.
Katie, her husband Steven, and children reside in Dallas, Texas.
