NURTURING FAITH EXPERIENCE: GLACIER, MONTANA
August 5-11, 2017 August 12-19, 2017
GLACIER NATIONAL PARK in Northern Montana is the destination for TWO Nurturing Faith Experiences set for August 2017.
These two experiences have similarities as well as somewhat different focuses, schedules and itineraries. Both feature a personal touch from arrival to departure, the chance to experience the wonders of nature, and enjoy sharing a casual but inspiring week with a small group and attentive leaders: Bruce Gourley and John Pierce.
NURTURING FAITH EXPERIENCE: GLACIER EAST-TO-WEST (aka Glacier1)
AUGUST 5-11, 2017 (Saturday-Friday)
Enjoy the grandeur of Glacier National Park with housing in two beautiful lodges just outside the eastern and western park boundaries. Rooms at historic Glacier Park Lodge (just east of the park entrance) and Grouse Mountain Lodge (to the west in Whitefish) feature two queen beds and private baths. Both properties are operated by Glacier Park, Inc., and provide many amenities.
From boat rides on scenic lakes to drives along the stunning Going-to-the-Sun Road to the strolling through Logan Pass, the days will be full and inspiring. However, this experience will not feature daily hiking like Glacier2. But there will be optional opportunities to get in some walking if one desires.
Cost: $2,050 includes all meals, activities, programs and tours. Participants are responsible for their own travel to and from Bozeman airport. (There is a lodging supplement of $600 for an individual wanting a private room throughout the experience.)
NURTURING FAITH EXPERIENCE: GLACIER ADVENTURES (aka Glacier2)
AUGUST 12-19, 2017 (Saturday-Saturday)
A wonderful opportunity to explore Glacier National Park — “Crown of the Continent.” High-demand housing inside the park allows for easy access to abundant and optional activities in remarkably beautiful settings. Great food, shared experiences and casual gatherings add to the making of memories. Friendly airport-to-airport service provided.
One day longer, this experience offers day hiking* along with boat rides, driving tours and horseback riding — as well as optional sunrise/sunset photo opportunities. Room set-ups vary at Lake McDonald (lodge rooms, cabins, etc.). Each Many Glacier Hotel room has a full-size bed and private bath. These are the two best locations possible — providing stunning views (from sunup to sundown), shops, great restaurants, activities and easy access to the wonders of Glacier Park.
*Glacier National Park has 734 miles of trails leading to hundreds of lakes as well waterfalls, wildlife habitats, spectacular mountain views, and more. We won’t do them all. Our plan is to do a series of rather short hikes (a few miles) to see the best of Glacier. Because we are staying in strategic in-the-park lodges, participants may choose to skip a hike (and sit by the lake) or add a few miles after dinner. So the desire and ability to hike a bit are needed. An example: The St. Mary Area Waterfalls Hike goes to three named falls for a round trip of 5.2 miles with stops along the way at each falls.
Cost: $2350 includes all meals, activities, programs and personal tours. Participants are responsible for their own travel to and from Bozeman airport. (A supplement of $600 ensures a private room for an individual at C’mon Inn and Many Glacier Hotel, and priority for private accommodations at Lake McDonald Lodge as available.)
