Every minister’s call story is unique. Just as God reveals God’s self in many ways, God also speaks and invites men and women to pastoral ministry in a variety of voices.

This volume is a collection of call stories from pastors representing a cross-section of Baptist life. Some were called at a very young age. Others were called to transition from successful careers in the marketplace. Some answered the call immediately, and others wrestled with the call before reaching a sense of clarity.

These stories come from a menagerie of ministers representing diverse theological perspectives. The common denominators of this group are their Christian commitment, their Baptist heritage, and their unique call experience. Behind almost every call story is a faithful yet imperfect congregation, supporting, affirming, and encouraging the future minister in his or her calling.
