Aurelia Davila Pratt is the lead pastor of Peace of Christ Church in Round Rock, Texas.

  1. Where did you grow up?

In a little town in rural north Louisiana, called Homer (population: 2,874).

  1. What is your favorite verse, book or story in the Bible? Why?

One of my favorite narratives is of Shiphrah and Puah, the midwives from the book of Exodus.

They represent the power of resistance, subversive irreverence and courage in the face of institutionalized oppression. And also, important to note, God blesses it.

  1. What is your favorite movie? Why?

It’s a tie between the “Rocky” movies (1 to 4 only) and “Sleepless in Seattle.”

I have no idea why. Nostalgia makes me happy.

  1. Who are three people you admire?

David Davila, my dad; Jann Ferris, my daughter’s namesake; and my congregation members who are my teachers.

  1. What is one little-known fact about yourself?

I collect iconography and buy one anytime I visit another country or want to mark a significant spiritual experience.
