1. Where did you grow up?
Alexandria, a rural community in the valley between Anniston and Gadsden in northeast Alabama.
2. What is your favorite Bible verse, book or story? Why?
One of my favorite Bible passages is Romans 12:1-2.
It is an extremely relevant Scripture, which cautions us against conforming to cultural norms even as it calls us to be transformed by grace, a conversion process that begins with the renewing of our minds.
3. What is your favorite movie? Why?
One of my all-time favorite movies is “Chariots of Fire.”
First, because I really like the music, and second, because the tension between faith and culture is representative of many other plots and predicaments in life.
4. Who are three of the people you admire?
Jimmy Carter, Fisher Humphreys and Sarah Jackson Shelton.
5. What is one little known fact about yourself?
I enjoy piecing together jigsaw puzzles for many reasons, not the least of which is the continual reminder of how small pieces are crucial to the bigger picture.
