Meridian, Mississippi.
2. What is your favorite Bible verse, book or story? Why?
Micah 6:8.
Can there be any finer, more succinct summation of our individual and corporate responsibility before God, than to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly?
3. What is your favorite movie? Why?
“Cool Hand Luke.”
It originates in the south of my boyhood and it communicates so much of biblical truth in a subtle, yet compelling way.
4. Who are three of the people you admire?
Bradley Pope (my oldest living mentor), Father Andrew Greeley (Roman Catholic priest and sociologist) and Janice Riley Newell (my wife).
5. What is one little known fact about yourself?
I have a totally irrational dislike of dark-colored towels.
