2. What is your favorite verse, book or story in the Bible? Why?
Jesus calling the fisherman to discipleship.
My earliest memory is of my grandfather, who was a pastor, teaching me how to fish, and I’m always touched by the miraculous catch and then simple call to follow Jesus.

I love the hero’s journey: the call to adventure, the quest for an impossible achievement, guides and friends along the path, death, transformation and rebirth.

I grew up with Oscar-winning actress Octavia Spencer and went to prom with her (It was a triple date, but she wasn’t my date).
