Don Gordon is senior pastor of Ardmore Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and a Baptist Center for Ethics board member.

1. Where did you grow up?

Clemmons, North Carolina.

2. What is your favorite verse, book or story in the Bible? Why?

Romans.

As one interested and inspired by the theological movements in the church’s history, I continue to be intrigued with the power of Paul’s letter to the Romans to change the world.

3. What is your favorite movie? Why?

“The Sound of Music.”

It is my favorite movie because of the memories I have watching it as a child and later with my own three daughters. Besides, is there a more delightful song than “These Are a Few of my Favorite Things”?

4. Who are three people you admire?

Mary Frances Gordon (my mother), Daniel Vestal and Jerry Wallace (former president of Campbell University).

5. What is one little-known fact about yourself?

I caught a home run with my bare hands in the right-field bleachers of PNC Park in Pittsburgh in a game between the Pirates and the Diamondbacks.
