Edward Dima is senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Kajo-Keji in South Sudan, president of the Baptist Convention of South Sudan, principal of North East Africa Theological Seminary South Sudan, chairman of the evangelical churches in Kajo-Keji and a church planter for the Kajo-Keji Baptist Region.
1. Where did you grow up?
A small village called Longira Lire “payam” in Kajo-Keji, South Sudan. A “payam” is a sub-county in the South Sudan political setting.
2. What is your favorite verse, book or story in the Bible? Why?
1 Timothy 1:12-14.
These verses reflect my life – how Christ found me in bad shape but his grace was abundant and he called me to be his minister, which compelled me to follow him.
3. Who are a few of the people you admire?
John Garang (a former leader of South Sudan who fought for the nation’s independence) and Nelson Mandela.
4. What is one little-known fact about yourself?
I am a quiet, timid person and slow in learning, but sharp at the end.
