1. What is your favorite verse, book or story in the Bible? Why?
Romans 8:38-39.
Knowing we are held in God’s love gives confidence and courage for all the challenges of daily life.
3. What is your favorite movie? Why?
“As Good As It Gets.”
It is one of my favorite movies because Jack Nicholson character’s line – “You make me want to be a better man” – is true of my relationship with my wife and the church.

Martin Luther King Jr., Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Nelson Mandela.
5. What is one little-known fact about you?
Attempts have been made to “dis-fellowship” me from two different Baptist associations – one in Tennessee (for the ordination of women) in which the vote failed; and one in South Carolina (over the issue of rebaptism and church membership) in which the vote was successful.
