Leroy Seat was a missionary to Japan from 1966-2004 and is both professor emeritus of Seinan Gakuin University and pastor emeritus of Fukuoka International Church.

1. Where did you grow up?
From the summer of 1945, when I turned 7, I grew up on a farm in Worth County, Missouri.
2. What is your favorite Bible verse, book or story? Why?
Matthew 6:24-34.
These verses give me both the comfort and the challenge that I need to hear and consider regularly.
3. What is your favorite movie? Why?
“The Mission.”
This movie has wonderful cinematography (it won an Oscar), a very appealing missionary as the central character, a story of a man racked by guilt but who experienced grace and forgiveness, and an ending that leaves serious issues to be pondered.
4. Who are three of the people you admire?
Deceased: Francis of Assisi, Kagawa Toyohiko and Clarence Jordan.
Living: Desmond Tutu, Pope Francis and Jim Wallis.
5. What is one little known fact about yourself?
I graduated from junior college, was ordained and got married all in the same month, May 1957, when I was still 18 years old.
