Leta Tillman is a retired Hardin-Simmons University professor and librarian.

1. Where did you grow up?

McAllen, Texas.

2. What is your favorite verse, book or story in the Bible? Why?

Romans 8:28.

This verse gives me a chance to look in the rearview mirror of my life and see God’s presence so as to turn and look hopefully into the future.

3. What is your favorite movie? Why?

“Pride and Prejudice.”

Always a fan of Jane Austin, I enjoy returning to the days when your words were representative of your character.

4. Who are three people you admire?

Bernice Meek (my mother), Fannie Mae Segler (wife of Franklin Segler) and Cecil Sherman.

5. What is one little-known fact about yourself?

When I first started teaching, I worked three summers for the refrigerator car service of Southern Pacific Railroad.
