1. Where did you grow up?

The historic town of Winchester in the United Kingdom.

2. What is your favorite verse, book or story in the Bible? Why?

Colossians 3:1-3.

It reminds me that it is all about Jesus, that I need to keep my heart and mind continually being renewed by his character and ways, and that I am hidden in him, and my serving is not about my effort and striving but about finding myself in God and allowing him to be at work.

3. What is your favorite movie? Why?

“Cool Runnings.”

It is an inspiring comedy about the true story of Jamaica’s first Olympic bobsled team.

4. Who are three people you admire?

Joan Nixon (a friend who was a great encourager), Clare Hooper (my former colleague) and Jackie Pullinger (a British missionary to Hong Kong and founder of the St Stephen’s Society).

5. What is one little-known fact about yourself?

My two favorite writing implements are a pencil decorated with a design from the stained-glass windows of the Kaiser Wilhelm Church in Berlin and a beautiful turquoise Waterman fountain pen with turquoise ink.
