1. Where did you grow up?

Louisville, Alabama.

2. What is your favorite Bible verse, book or story? Why?

Proverbs.

Most verses are like pieces of chocolate: You shouldn’t have too many at once. Each verse is rich and should be savored for meaning.

3. What is your favorite movie? Why?

“Where the Red Fern Grows.”

Every boy who’s owned a dog knows the emotions of joy and sorrow felt from this story.

4. Who are three of the people you admire?

Olu Menjay (principal of Ricks Institute in Liberia), Jasper Keith Jr. (my former CPE supervisor) and Jack Purcell (retired grammar school principal and storyteller).

5. What is one little known fact about yourself?

I established Bricks for Ricks Foundation, which has now placed block-making machines for constructing permanent dwellings in Peru and Liberia.
