Proverbs 18:17.

This verse reminds me to always looks for all sides of a story when reporting, which has guided my career in journalism, including my time as an editor of a state Baptist newspaper.

3. What is your favorite movie? Why?

“Life is Beautiful” (the subtitled version, not the dubbed one).

It is a reminder that even in the most difficult circumstances, God’s providence is still at work.

4. Who are three of the people you admire?

Henrik Ibsen (playwright), Helen Keller and Pope Francis.

5. What is one little known fact about yourself?

While a student at Belleville East High School, I was a member of the Mexican-American folk-dancing troupe.
