- Where did you grow up?
- What is your favorite verse, book or story in the Bible? Why?
John 11:35: “Jesus wept.”
I cried a lot as a kid, and my aunt told me the Lazarus story and said, “Sometimes, we have to cry to clear our eyes to see things with a new vision. There’s nothing wrong with crying because even Jesus did.”
- What is your favorite movie? Why?
“God on Trial.”
It is so honest and raw.
- Who are three people you admire?
Rev. Dolores Rader, minister to families at South Main Baptist Church in Houston; Rev. Katie Murray, minister and mother in Dallas; and Chaneka Rich, academic director at Uplift Ascend Primary in Dallas.
- What is one little-known fact about yourself?
I was struck by lightning as a kid but have yet to win the lottery.
