1. Where did you grow up?
San Diego, California.
2. What is your favorite Bible verse, book or story? Why?
Habakkuk. It’s such a raw presentation of the human condition in a violent world where God often seems silent or absent as well as an affirmation of God’s long arc of justice and judgment.
3. What is your favorite movie? Why?
“The Three Amigos.”
I’ve enjoyed a lot of films that are more highbrow and meaningful, but I can’t honestly say that any have surpassed the innocent love I’ve had for this one since I was a kid.
4. Who are three of the people you admire?
John Stott, Alan Cranston (former U.S. journalist and senator) and George Shultz (former U.S. secretary of state).
5. What is one little known fact about yourself?
I won the “total yearly pages” trophy in a competitive book reading group.
