Hop in the car with Jenna Sullivan and Ashley Robinson as they step out of the pulpit and see what God is up to in the world. They’re not leaving the church — just finding it in all kinds of beautiful places.
A disciple of Jesus, ordained feminist + queer preacher, certified yoga instructor and community pastor, Sullivan plans to joyfully spend her life embodying the ancient gospel of Christ-like love, compassion and justice. Whether dancing with abandon on Instagram, bearing witness to unspeakable church wounds, or getting into holy mischief with friends, Jenna stays both reverent and relevant. She is an emerging church mother — living fearlessly into her womanhood, queerness and boundless love for all of God’s creation.
Her friends call her Mama Ash, Reverend Mama Ash. She is both wildly irreverent and boldly committed to the way of Jesus Christ. In her not-so-distant past life she studied music, but majored in beer at the University of Alabama. She later earned a Master of Divinity from Central Baptist Theological Seminary through their Women’s Leadership Initiative. Her winding path toward ministry means that she can hold her own on the concert stage, the bar stool, and the pulpit. She is happiest when she is up to her elbows in biscuit dough, preparing a meal for a crowded table. Ashley is a proud, flaming Baptist of the Alliance of Baptists and hopes to live into a ministry that is radically welcoming and affirming.
