Robert L. Maddox
Robert L. Maddox is the founder and consultant with the Briggs Center for Faith and Action. He was executive director of the center from 2006 until his retirement in 2019. The center is a 501(c)(3) based in Bethesda, Maryland, that enlists, empowers and involves people who share a passion for social justice and a common purpose of serving the disadvantaged and marginalized.
An ordained Baptist minister, he served previously as pastor of several local churches, as the executive director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State and in the Carter Administration as a liaison to the religious community.
In addition to his books published with Nurturing Faith, Maddox’s books include, “Separation of Church and State,” “Preacher at the White House” and “Layman’s Bible Book Commentary: Acts.”
Maddox is a graduate of Baylor University and Emory University’s Candler School of Theology.
