The dog has picked up a new habit.
As we leave the house for a near-dawn walk each morning, he runs left and right a couple of times, as far as the retractable leash will allow him, then he grabs an acorn from the road in front of a neighbor’s home, and starts playing a game. As we walk downhill from the house, he drops the acorn, which bounces and rolls down the road, then runs after it. Sometimes he catches it on first or second bounce. Rarely does it stop moving before he’s scooped it up just long enough to drop the acorn and start chasing it again.
For some reason, Banjo’s game reminded me that it’s Monday. I suspect most of us have lots of acorns to chase today.
Let’s see how many we can catch on first bounce, and try to have some fun while we’re at it.
