(An excerpt from tomorrow’s sermon at the First Baptist Church of Chattanooga, Tenn.)
“As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you.” Isaiah 66:13
Good parenting is a good example of a good God. Surely a child’s understanding of God will be shaped by how we do as parents, grandparents or other caregivers.
Our children do not expect us to be perfect like God — just consistently loving.
So through our love and care, we are able to reveal some of the best qualities of God: love, mercy and forgiveness.
Happy Mother’s Day!
