Apple has sold more than 100 million iPads; one of them was bought by Central Baptist Church of Bearden, Tenn. The reason: a gift to Senior Pastor Wade Bibb on his first anniversary at the Knoxville church.
Bibb took more than the iPad out of the box: He began delivering sermons from the iPad itself. Bibb talks about preaching from an iPad in a new Skype interview with EthicsDaily.com.

“We are a fairly traditional church, in transition to doing some more creative things and some more missional things,” says Bibb.
Bibb talks in the interview about some of the pros and cons to preaching with a tablet.
“One of the things that’s been difficult for folks listening, not for me doing this, is even the idea of reading Scripture not from a Bible,” says Bibb. “For some of our senior adults, that’s a little tough for them. It’s a visual thing, seeing you with the Bible in your hand.”
But Bibb also says other senior adults at the church have their own iPads and are already reading Scripture that way.
Bibb touches on generational differences with technology, misunderstandings when incorporating tablets into worship services, and advantages and disadvantages of preaching with an iPad in the six-minute interview.
