Christopher Mack is Pastor of Community and Teaching at Vox Veniae Church in Austin, Texas.

When I moved to Austin, friends suggested I visit Vox Veniae for church. One of my first Sundays there, Christopher Mack preached a story about a house he once lived in that had bees in the walls. I realized I had lived in that same house! We already shared a former supervisor, but this uncanny overlap felt like confirmation: we were bound to get along.
Getting to know Christopher has been a joy. He’s an astute observer of people, deeply engaged in our community, and always has the perfect coffee spot in mind. But beyond recommendations, he brings a rare openness to relationships. He’s thoughtful, present, and willing to truly enter into the lives of those around him. His presence isn’t marked by performative friendliness, but offers a place for souls to relax into themselves. He’s the kind of person who says “yes” to Austin’s odd adventures, loves a good film, and offers a well-placed “hmmmm” when needed. Christopher prioritizes his established relationships while being open to new ones.
One of the bravest forms of leadership is the kind that gives up power. At Vox, I’ve seen Christopher work to restructure who gets a seat at the table and become co-creators alongside our community.
