Carol Boseman Taylor

Carol Boseman Taylor was born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, on a dairy and tobacco farm, and learned to meet God in all that surrounded me.

I grew up on that farm, was educated at UNC-G in Greensboro and took graduate classes at East Carolina University. I married my childhood sweetheart, Charles E. Taylor, Jr. (also Nurturing Faith author) and we have three beautiful daughters–Mary Blythe Taylor, Anna Taylor Freeman and Erin Taylor Rice. We have five amazing grandchildren (Izzy, Anna Ricks, Lucy, Banks and Mary Charles).

I started my working career as an administrative assistant for Hardee’s Food Systems, moving into a teaching position at Nash Community College. Later I worked as a frame shop owner and operator, a law office librarian and manager and finally as a commercial real estate broker in Raleigh, NC until a move to Wingate, NC took me into an early retirement. I love reading, knitting, crocheting, watercolor painting, jewelry design, cooking and playing with my grandchildren. For most of my life I have journaled…telling God on a daily basis what I wanted Him to do for me. (Sound familiar?)

My journaling changed from my dictating my wishes to sitting and asking God what he had for me. As I sat in his presence, I wrote the words that came through my mind and pen into a journal. From these times of listening, I Promise. Rejoice! was born. It was a very holy effort for me and I resisted publication until Nurturing Faith took it up and put it out into the Universe.

I have been following God’s leading as long as I can remember. In retirement, I find myself back in my childhood home–on a historic farm–in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Here I find peace and joy. Here I find contentment for these retirement years.

Yes, I am still listening. Yes, I still meditate. Yes, my pen still translates God’s words to me onto the paper of my journals.

Will there be a second volume? Who but God knows. As for now, I hope you will enjoy the one effort I offer to you–I Promise. Rejoice!
