The Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty (BJC) and Christians Against Christian Nationalism (CACN) are confronting the rise of Christian nationalism by offering “Faith-Rooted Organizing for Clergy.”

The Clergy Quarterly Touchpoint is an online series designed specifically for faith leaders to discuss and organize against Christian nationalism, which is a threat to pluralism, democracy and vulnerable communities. This faith-based training is for pastors, priests, rabbis, imams, ministers and other faith leaders.

Participants are invited to listen to the stories of clergy who are “helping their congregations faithfully resist Christian nationalism.” The gathering will also include small group conversations to equip clergy in their churches, parishes, mosques, temples and communities to move from understanding to action. In addition, clergy can build relationships, share stories and resources that advance this collective public witness.

“BJC seeks to cultivate the role of faith communities in building a democratic society that practices dignity and pluralism,” BJC said in a statement. “We recognize that clergy carry a unique and sacred responsibility in this moment: leading congregations to respond faithfully as religious freedom is under threat. As Christian nationalism continues to grow, harming already vulnerable communities, this work can be difficult to carry alone.”

With the belief that justice is a calling rooted in faith, the training will be held on Thursday, January 26th, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET and 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. CT. For more information and to register, click here.
